Press Release 2 - The Coalition for Free and Fair Elections to Observe The Parliamentary Elections of June 23rd 2013

Tirana, 23 June 2013, 7.00 - The Coalition for Free and Fair Elections will observe the Parliamentary Elections of June 2013.

Tirana, June 23, 2013- The Coalition for Free and Fair Elections, an Ad hoc gathering of the Albanian Helsinki Committee, Gender Alliance for Development Center, Albanian Disability Rights Foundation, will observe on the election day with 600 domestic observers in 9 regions in the country.

The CFFE will observe in Tirana Qark through 350 observers who are placed in a number of polling stations that are selected through a random and representative sample. The coordination will be done through the Communication Center that is established in the office of the Gender Alliance for Development Center, where 25 persons will elaborate the data coming from the observers. During the Election Day, the Coalition and the partner organizations will communicate regularly with the public about the observation results, especially regarding opening of the polling stations, closing procedures and the potential incidents.

The Report with preliminary data of observation will be announced to the public on June 24rth, at 12.00 at Tirana International, in a Press Conference.

The monitoring activities of the elections of the CFFE are assisted by National Democratic Institute, NDI through USAID funds, and Austrian Development Cooperation Agency, Civil Rights Defenders, Open Society Institute in Albania and more importantly the initiatives of the CFFE for the Parliamentary Elections of June 2013 are supported by the Albanian citizens, who are contributing on voluntary bases at CFFE.
